ODI (www.odi.org.uk) aims to inspire and inform policy and practice to reduce poverty by locking together high-quality applied research and practical policy advice.
We are seeking a Team Administrator to join and support our busy Public Affairs and Communications team. The role will provide support to the Director of External Affairs, manage all team administration and act as a focal point between the team and other programmes within the institute. The role will also support internal communications across ODI.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Director and the wider team to deliver high quality public affairs and communications outputs.
Responsibilities will include general administration support, tracking and monitoring of budgets and expenditure and producing financial reports, tracking and reporting on media coverage, providing PA support to the Director, supporting the wider work of the team as well as internal communications across the institute.
Essential
Knowledge and Qualifications
A Level Education or equivalent and/or relevant experience
High level of numeracy and literacy
Experience
- Experience in a similar busy office-based role
- Experience of budget monitoring
- Experience of diary and travel management
- Communications experience
Skills/Abilities
- Strong organisational skills and self-motivation
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
- Advanced IT skills to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, databases, email
- Ability to learn new software quickly
- Strong Data management skills
- Discretion in dealing with confidential information
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality output
- Good proof reading and editing skills
- Multitasking capabilities
- Ability to work to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity, the ability to deal with people from a variety of backgrounds
Desirable
- Experience and interest in development issues
- Experience of the SharePoint document and management system
