Our Centre for Aid and Public Expenditure Programme is seeking a Research Officer to contribute to developing, fundraising for, conducting and managing high-quality innovative research, policy analysis and influencing in CAPE’s development finance team.
The team’s recent highlights include:
- New estimates of ‘beyond ODA flows’, and analysis of the changing aid landscape at country level
- Flagship ‘Financing the future’ report on how international public finance can best support the eradication of poverty by 2030.
- The role of non-concessional international public finance in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals: ‘Financing the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals: A rough roadmap’
- Flagship report on future scenarios for development cooperation: Horizon 2025: creative destruction in the aid industry
- A theoretical analysis of why donors should support the private sector, and what success looks like
About you:
The successful candidate will have:
- Advanced degree in economics or another relevant discipline.
- Working knowledge of issues and practice in development finance.
- Experience in an international development research environment or an international development institution.
- Excellent report – writing and presentation skills.
- Interpersonal and networking skills.
- Excellent IT skills and knowledge in widely-used econometric software packages.
- Willingness to travel on a frequent basis.
