The Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance in Humanitarian Action (ALNAP) is a system-wide network organisation dedicated to improving the accountability and performance of humanitarian action by strengthening the humanitarian evidence base through sharing lessons, identifying key issues and, where appropriate, providing leadership to find collective approaches and solutions. The Secretariat of the ALNAP network is based in the Overseas Development Institute. Candidates are advised to familiarise themselves with the ALNAP network at www.alnap.org.
We are looking to appoint a full time Deputy Director to co-lead on the delivery of the new ALNAP Five Year Strategy. ALNAP has now over 100 humanitarian member organisations and a stellar reputation for delivering high quality products and services, including four editions of its flagship publication The State of the Humanitarian System Report. This new post reflects ALNAPs sustained growth over the past decade.
The successful candidate will bring a proven track record of managing and motivating successful teams and will provide senior-level operational and strategic leadership. Guided by a committed Steering Committee and working closely with the current Director, the successful candidate will be an energetic and innovative leader with the ability to guide and provide oversight to the research, operations/finance and communications functions in ALNAP. The candidate will be equally happy working independently as well as working as part of a dynamic team.
The new Deputy Director will hold values which align with the ethos and mission of ALNAP and will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to achieving better humanitarian outcomes for vulnerable people.
