About us:

ODI (www.odi.org.uk) aims to inspire and inform policy and practice to reduce poverty by locking together high-quality applied research and practical policy advice.

The Water Policy Programme (WPP) at ODI links high quality research with practical policy advice on water and sanitation issues. Our aim is to initiate, contribute to and influence key debates on water and sanitation with a bearing on poverty through collaboration with government, donor, civil society and private sector partners. Our work is organised around three main themes: (1) environmental change and uncertainty; (2) secure water and sanitation; and (3) water resources management and allocation.

Recent highlights include:

  • Advisory work for governments, donors and NGOs on climate change impacts and adaptation priorities in the water sector.
  • Research on water governance, irrigation reform and the political economy of service delivery in Africa and Asia.
  • Work on ODI’s major cross-programme flagship projects on climate resilient development, energy, agriculture and social protection.

We are looking for a Research Officer to work on research and advisory projects covering different aspects of water security. As a Research Officer, you will help develop, fundraise for, conduct and manage research, advisory and public affairs activities under the supervision of the Head of Programme and Research Fellows.
