Our Centre for Aid and Public Expenditure Programme is seeking a Programme Officer to contribute to all areas of project management and project development in CAPE’s Public Finance and Institutions team.
The role will be varied and interesting, and will include all aspects of administrative and financial project management support to projects in the area of Public Finance and Institutions, in particular the Budget Strengthening Initiative (BSI) project. BSI works with Ministries of Finance in fragile, conflict-affected and transitional states such as South Sudan, Liberia and DR Congo, as well as with the Secretariat of the g7+ group of fragile and conflict-affected countries. The role will encompass the development of new funding proposals, operations support and appropriate monitoring and reporting of progress, across a number of BSI programmes and other CAPE/PFI projects. The post will require the management of and interaction with a range of stakeholders both in London and across the BSI/CAPE/PFI networks. The post holder will provide general support and facilitate the flow of information internally between the researchers/advisors, central support departments and externally with a variety of stakeholders.

- Educated to degree level.
- High level of numeracy.
- Experience of budget monitoring.
- Grant administration experience.
- Strong organisational skills and self-motivation.
- Multitasking capabilities.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Ability to work to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
- Advanced IT skills to include Excel, Word, email, PowerPoint, Access, databases.
- Ability to learn new tasks quickly.
- Good proof reading and editing skills.
