Programme Officer –Secure Livelihoods Research Consortium and the Social Protection and Social Policy Programme

Contract: Fixed-Term until 31 December 2018

Salary: £28,015 – £33,419 pa

We are looking for a Programme Officer to join Secure Livelihoods Research Consortium / Social Protection and Social Policy Programme.

The purpose of this role is to provide administrative, financial, and programme management support to the Secure Livelihoods Research Consortium (SLRC) and projects under the Social Protection and Social Policy Programme (SPSPP). You will report to the SLRC programme manager but hold responsibility over discrete tasks including budget monitoring, contracting partners, tracking programme results, and facilitating information flows both internally and externally. You will provide administrative and financial project management support to research staff at every stage, from proposals to completion, on a wide range of projects.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Support project leaders in the preparation of bids and proposals (with financial and other documentation).

  • Project, financial and contractual monitoring (in support of project leaders).

  • Programme coordination and administration.

  • Monitor project deliverables, particularly as related to contractual milestones and invoicing schedules

  • General project support.

About you

  • Educated to degree level.
  • High level of numeracy.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong experience in monitoring budgets.
  • Excellent communication skills, including good written and spoken English.
  • Multitasking skills in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
  • Good proofreading and editing skills.
  • Advanced IT skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and databases.
  • Knowledge of a language other than English is desirable, and an interest in international development and humanitarian issues is essential.
