Salary: Full-time equivalent £33,998.00 – £40,574 per annum (pro rata at 21 hours per week - £20,398 to £24,344)

This is an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to play a key role within the Secretariat and Governance team. Reporting to the Director of Professional Services and the Secretariat and Governance manager, the Company Secretary will manage the complex and interdependent central administration processes for which the Secretariat and Governance team has responsibility, including governance, management agenda/annual planning, legal oversight etc and so assist in running this function of the Institute and supporting the Senior Leadership Team and the Chair of Board.
The post ensures good governance within the organisation, providing informed support to the Board of Trustees in the execution of their duties.
Using experience gained through a legal or compliance background, manage risk across the institute, ensuring proper compliance and the establishment and monitoring of robust legal and regulatory procedures.
About you
You will have:
· Proven experience of administration at a senior level
· Experience of working in a fast paced organisation often with conflicting priorities.
· Experience of managing complex and inter-related processes in a demanding environment.
· Relationship building at a senior level and with external stakeholders, where confidentiality is paramount.
· Compliance or Legal experience or knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory environment
· The ability to manage a complex work programme independently
· Writing, editing and proofing skills to a high standard
· Minute-taking and IT skills to a high standard
· Excellent communication skills, both written, verbal
· Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
· Discretion in dealing with confidential information
· Self-motivated; able to take the lead within guidelines, have a can-do attitude
· The ability to respond effectively to quickly changing circumstances.
· Demonstrates good analytical skills and sound judgment.
· Knowledge of NGOs and/or voluntary organisations
