We are looking for a Programme Assistant to join ALNAP.
ALNAP is a global network of NGOs, UN agencies, members of the Red Cross/Crescent Movement, donors, academics, networks and consultants dedicated to learning how to improve response to humanitarian crises. We believe that by improving the quality, availability and use of knowledge and evidence from previous responses we can make the system perform better and be more accountable. To do this, we facilitate learning between our Network Members, host the largest library of evaluations of humanitarian action, carry out original research and host events and conferences.
The successful candidate will provide administrative, budgeting, secretarial and programme support to the ALNAP Operations and Partnerships Manager, Programme Manager and ALNAP Researchers and will support in facilitating the flow of information internally between the ALNAP Programme team and central support departments.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Project, financial and contractual monitoring (in support of project leaders).
- Programme coordination and administration.
- Supporting in the organisation of the ALNAP Annual Meeting and ALNAP workshops.

About you **
- Educated to degree level
- Knowledge of key international institutions in the sector and beyond
- High level of numeracy
- Experience in prioritising urgent tasks and dealing with multiple requests
- Experience of providing administrative support
- Experience of dealing with colleagues at senior level.
- Experience of organizing events/workshops
- Experience of budget monitoring
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including good written and spoken English.
- Multitasking skills in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
- Good proofreading and editing skills.
- Advanced IT skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and databases.
- Ability to learn new software quickly.
